Comments: From: Daintree State School Anniversary "Daintree was still an isolated world within a world, the only access being by water or on horse back. The journey to Mossman by horse took about 6 to 8 hours as Barratt Creek, influenced by tides, could only be negotiated safely at low tide until a bridge was built in 1929. However, Daintree was ably serviced by sailing boat to Port Douglas and Cairns. Later the Osborne Brothers supplied a very efficient transport service by motor launch."
