A crowd of 8000 people witnessed the departure of the Cobb and Co Coach from Port Douglas en route to Melbourne. King Diamond travelled on the first stage of the Coach with Cr EW Berzinski, HA Adair MHR, WJ Fulton MP, Mr W Trezise, RD Rex & CA Pearse.
